Thought I'd start a new thread for our "adventures" in full time Rving.
We have been getting pummeled by high winds the past 2 days and without our leveling jacks, well, it's been ROCK AND ROLL in this thing. No damage, other than to a table cloth Chris left on our outside table, after I told her it wasn't a good idea to leave it set up...LOL. We have a fence on one side and a trailer on the other that we've not seen a single person in it since we moved to this new spot. That's probably why the managers said no one will here our dogs when they decide to bark and we're not here to shut them up. Talked to a gal across the lot from us and she said don't worry, her dog barks all the time. We think the one complaint they got was probably from someone just passing through and didn't like dogs.
We are supposed to have on and off rain most of the day and rain until either Saturday or Sunday. Figures, the coldest weather in some time has to hit when we get out here... Still, it's a heck of a lot better than 30 for a high and snow!!! It's cloudy and 52 right now and I'll take that.

I don't know, but it really sucks. Windy again today and we're rocking all over the place, even with being between a longer trailer and a fence. Starting to get really tired of it as it's too crummy to really do anything.

Windy isn't the word! We had one gust hit us about 15 minutes ago that I actually thought was going to push onto our side. It felt like the right side suspension extended to it's max and then slammed back down! If this keeps up, we may rethink staying here for the winter.

Hang in there Greg. We have one more day of wind and this front will be out of here. After that the weather will warm back up and be sunny again. It will be ok. This is not your normal AZ weather.

Sorry to hear that your stay in Tombstone so far has been a "Rock & Roll" Stormy adventure.... Yikes hopefully the WX will turn to a normal winter warm WX pattern again Soon...
Our son has a small travel trailer which he uses for work...He normally stabilizes his small trailer with some blocks of wood and/or cement blocks ...more sturdy than the small jacks on the trailer... He usually sets up at a job location for 2 or 3 months as a union iron worker on a construction site... I wonder if this might work for you.... guess problem might be the more frequent need to actually move your RV to go somewhere --shopping or whatever...

I sure hope so, Judy, as the last weather report I saw yesterday is still calling for rain and possible hail all the way through Saturday. So, so far our "vacation" has been a real bust. At least during the night the wind finally stopped.

Just talked to a gal with XM radio. She said she was in Iowa and the trees and roads are all covered with ice and they had freezing rain falling.....hmmmm....think I will take the rain and wind here in AZ thanks. LOL!
Wind has died down a lot here in Tucson..still blowing and rather chilly though not as hard as it was. The sun is trying to peek through to. Oh yeah..it's getting better. Hang in there Greg..it could be a lot worse.

It's sort of sunny now here, but still chilly. We made it to Benson, filled the cart to the top at Walmart and got out of there for under $100, which amazed me. Filled up the propane tank and discovered a broken wire leading to the sensor for our inside level indicator so I'll need to rewire that. Fortunately, I have all the wiring fittings I need to make the repair. Then, filled up the gas tank so I won't have to deal with that when leaving in March. We got enough stuff at the store so we shouldn't have to make another run until sometime next month.
Had to smack the crap out of our big schnauzer as right after the came in from a walked he peed all over one of the plastic grocery bags. Surprised the crap out of him as I never nail him that hard. He knows better as he's never done that in the house.
At least it was nice enough today that they could have the shoot out at the O.K Corral a few minutes ago. On the history channel a couple of nights ago they profiled the Earps and the shootout along with how he went crazy after Morgan was ambushed and killed. Hopefull, if it's nice this coming week we will get out and do the tourist thing.

Here's a link to some interesting photos of King Solomon #5 Masonic Lodge in Tombstone, AZ. One interesting fact is Virgil Earp was denied membership in this lodge. No one knows why, but the thought is the Earps were not well liked in Tombstone.

Haven't had many adventures lately. Just been hanging out, taking a walk now and then around town. Weather hasn't been the greatest for southern AZ, but it's improving. We've had a lot of cloudy, cold days with rain, but today is shaping up to be very nice. Doors and windows are open so we have nice, light, cross breeze. Chris finally talked me into getting a new 'hat'. It's about twice the size of the ones I usually wear, but is more indicative of the area we're living in at the moment. We'll probably walk downtown again and go through some more stores and other buildings we've not been in.

We went through a very neat museum today. It has many, many one of a kind weapons, photographs and other items from the early days of Tombstone. Many photos of Wyatt Earp, his wives and the Clantons along with other well known western figures from that era. Well worth the admission and time it took to wander through it.

We did some more walking around yesterday and, as usual, had a great time. Still haven't done any of the tours, etc, but will do more do some of those this month. So far I've only purchased 2 hats and a new cane..LOL. I have my eye on some really cool 1800's clothes I'll probably buy before heading back to Michigan.
Today, however, is stay inside due to rain all day long being forecast and this will give me a good day to do our taxes.

Not a whole lot to post about. I have finally purchased 2 different 1880's outfits and have been having a blast getting into costume and going downtown. I constantly am getting my picture taken by the "tourists" so they can take home photos of "real cowboys" to show they were in Tombstone...LOL. Going to a cookout tonight put on by the managers of our RV park so that should be fun. They do this each Thursday and it's sort of a potluck. Friday we'll be going to "Big Nose Kates", one of the local bars for pizza and drinks with another couple in the park who also dress for the tourists.
Next week I'll get an Arizona ID and will apply for an Arizona concealed weapons permit and I can then carry when I'm walking around town and not worry about always having to keep a guy visible. Plus, Michigan recognizes AZ permits so I can continue to carry when we return, temporarily, to Michigan for the rest of the year in April.

Early Saturday morning, about 1:20am to be exact, both Chris and I woke up to a very haunting, male voice singing what sounded like a cowboy ballad. It only last a couple of minutes and when I tried to locate it, the voice disappeared. At first I thought it was coming from the bar we had visited earlier, as they had a loud band going. But, this is the kicker, there was NO MUSIC backing the voice up! I listened until 2am when the bars shut down and never heard another sound. Every night since then I've never heard anything from any of the bars, no matter how loud their music was playing. So, the only conclusion I can come to is it was a 'ghost voice'. Erie, but true. I asked around the park and no one else heard it, nor did they hear any music from the bars. Considering the park is built completely over the old "Hop Town" Chinese section, who knows. I've been hoping to hear it again, but no luck as of yet.

I talked with the park managers today and they confirmed the park is haunted and what we heard was more than likely our first experience with the ghosts around here. What was the kicker was the fact when I tried to locate it, the voice stopped and when I went back to bed I heard it again! Hopefully he will come back again and serenade us.

It really was and I'm hoping he returns tonight. We have a couple in the park that have a family that visits them periodically. And a young boy they see in the middle of the night playing with toys in the living area of their 5th wheel. The manager went to their place to chat with them about 2 weeks ago, knocked on the door and each time hear foot steps inside but no one came to the door. As she was leaving, she saw the couple walking towards their trailer, they hadn't been home when she knocked!

Greg, Melissa and I have found out that her house and the one next door to her are haunted.
We watched my 6 mo old grandson interacting with one of the spirits for almost an hour last night. There was no one in the room with him at all and we heard him cooing and laughing over the monitor. We went and peaked in the door and he was definitely interacting with someone. Raising his arms like he was touching their face and laughing at them..wiggling around like he was being tickled..that sort of thing. It was extremely interesting to watch.
I talked to the neighbor next door about it and he said His 3 year old daughter has the same type of interaction and he has also been pinned to the wall when he raised his voice at his 1 yr old son. Whatever it was pinned him to the wall and wouldn't let him move. He has had several sightings around his house as well. One telling him that his house was a portal for the spirits and they weren't going to go away until he helps them. He has contacted a Shaman about a cleansing for his house and is suppose to let me know what he finds out.
We are definitely doing some more research on these 2 houses to find out what the history of them are.
Very interesting happenings around here of late.
I have seen a woman and a little boy and so has the guy next door. They are wearing clothing from what appears to be the late 1800's era.

I have no doubt that spirits walk the earth. The house we lived in in VA contained the spirit of a previous owner. He was a meticulous man, and excellent carpenter. My 80+ yr old neighbor told me about him after I mentioned that I saw a figure.
This figure would appear whenever we did any kind of work on the house in the beginning.
After a year or so, he disappeared, and we didn't see him again. I guess he "approved" of our work.

We had to call the town Marshall tonight to get the music quieted down behind us after we were told by the managers of this park to stop "pounding on their door" about it since it wasn't 10pm yet. We couldn't even watch TV it was so loud and it literally rattled out motor home. We still have a week to go that we are paid up through, but we are moving to a different park in the morning and will be filing a complaint with the owners of the park once we have their information. Since it's a Good Sam Club approved park, I've also contacted them about the butt heads running this place. They jumped on us about our dogs the 1st day were here and they the other day accused me of driving over 5mph through the lot, which I wasn't doing. In fact, I even had my foot on the brake to make sure the speed didn't go over 5mph. It turns out the managers here are total jerks. The gal at the new park we are going to said they've heard similar complaints about the management of this park as people move out and into their park.

Sorry to hear you are having problems with that park Greg. It seemed like a really nice park when I was there. Can't judge a book by it's cover though.
Which park are you moving to and when are you and Chris planning on heading back to Michigan? Are you going to be there through April? If so, Gayle and I will stop in and visit with you for a bit in April after we get back from Oklahoma. Let me know.

We are just moving around the corner, so to speak, to the Stampede RV Park. Our departure date is going to be around April 14th now. It would be great if the 2 of you can make it here before then. I'll let you know what lot we end up in once they have us in a monthly spot. We hate to move, but we can't take this crap anymore with this kids loud music. In fact, he actually turned it back up but not as loud about 9:30 last night and didn't turn it off until almost 10:30. That was after he went storming off to see the managers, who I'm sure told him he could play his music since it wasn't curfew time yet.

We made the move to the Stampede park and LOVE IT! It's so much quieter and not nearly as crowded as the other one. The owners are really great and he saw we weren't level after he got us parked so he went and got some paving stones and placed them and guided me up on them so I was level. What a great guy! We told him why we moved and he said he'd have kicked the kid out of the park for that. We are going to be in the lot that doesn't have the office in it. We won't be hard to find at all. We will be leaving a bit earlier in April and that will be the 14th so hopefully you and Gayle can make it down here again.

Talk about relaxing! Sitting outside, under the awning and the temp is 68! The sun is starting to set, birds are chirping and listening to the Radio Classics program on Sirius Radio. Just finished supper which was grilled pork chops with grilled, fried potatos and corn. Life just doesn't get any better than this! Chris is having trouble adapting to retirement, but I'm sure not. Since I have an outside radio built into the side of the rig and a 120 outlet I am all set. Not looking forward to coming back to Michigan, but I have commitments I have to take care of and then it's back to Tombstone in December. THAT I am looking forward to.

I guess we are now 'official' Arizona residents as we got rid of our Michigan drivers licenses and obtained Arizona ones. I also dropped my CDL and went back to a regular operators license. Not a lot cheaper in AZ, but I can't drive a truck anymore so why pay the extra. We got both our AZ licenses for LESS than what one of us would have paid back in Michigan. After age 50 an Arizona operators license is only $10 and you don't have to renew or go back in until age 65 for a vision only test. Already finding it's cheaper out here than back in Michigan.

Sadly, faze 1 of our adventure came to a close a couple of days ago when we arrived back in Michigan. Fortunately it's only a temporary thing as in December we will once again be on the road and heading back to Tombstone, this time to stay. Might take a vacation once in awhile and explore more areas of the west, but it will be highly unlikely that we head back to Michigan, unless it's to just visit relatives in the U.P. if we don't make it up there this summer.
