I can't get the dvd player to power up at all. Do I need a bigger inverter? The company says I can connect directly to the batteries so I have to use the cig lighter.

I heard on the radio where we lost almost 50,000+ jobs in the month of July.... mfrg and service sector jobs... but maybe trucking companies are not hiring rookies either....too many experienced drivers looking for work...

Something must be up....

Saw our local Werner Rookie this past week... He now has his own truck and his running 48 states... He spent 3 days in Omaha waiting for his truck to be worked on after they assigned it to him.... They would not even give him a motel room...He spent his days in a truck ---mostly in his new assigned truck waiting for the needed repairs...

He is hoping to go teaming with a ex-GM OKC assembly line worker turned trucker once he completes his Werner trainee checkout... They both obtained their CDL licenses at a nearby truck driver training school here in Mustang, OK...

While we were waiting for our lunch order...He received a call from Werner HQs....someone had called to complain about where he had parked his bob-tail truck near a vacant Pizza Hut building lot.... He had to leave early to go move his truck before it got towed...
My wife and I are in the process of becoming an OTR team. We haven't got out licenses yet. Mine will come from Willis Shaw and Hers from Sage. Our plan is to team for Willis Shaw, everything we've heard (hear and elsewhere)

I'm meeting with a Willis Shaw recruiter next week. I was hoping the experienced drivers here could give me a list of questions and/or concerns to discuss with the recruiter.

We've been doing a lot of research and have a list of things to discuss, but being new to trucking there is no way we know the right questions.

We'll let you know how it goes.
My wife and I are looking into becoming an OTR team. We live in the Boise area of Idaho and we're in our mid 40's. Our kids are grown and gone so now is a good time for us to do this, we've been thinking of it for years and now is the time. We do well together and have worked together since we met. Spending 24/7 together would be no problem, never has been (I'm a lucky man).

We would like the opinions of those that know the ropes and have the experience to help us with information so we can make the important decisions with better information.

With our finances we're looking at my wife going to Sage CDL school and me going to Willis Shaw. We both wanted to train at Willis Shaw but they have a problem training husband and wife teams. We would like to find a company that would train us as a team since that is how we will be working/living.

Could someone give us ideas on the best way for us to go about getting training? Would it be better to train separately? What are your opinions on this?

What companies are best for OTR husband and wife teams? We would prefer 11 western regional but we are willing to do whatever it takes until we get 2 years OTR experience (more experience open more doors for us).

Any help or direction you all could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, we'll be seeing you soon.
